What does 4 stars mean on Airbnb?
For some people 4 stars means really great, but not excellent. Some people will never give any place 5 stars as it means perfection.
Many guests are surprised to discover the issue with ratings. After all, through AirBnB's own system, they are told to give 4 stars for a good experience, and 5 stars for a great one. They have no idea that too many 4 star reviews and their favorite summer getaway will no longer be available due to suspension.

A 4-star review is generally considered to be positive. It means the reviewer enjoyed the product or service and would recommend it to others. However, it is not necessarily a glowing endorsem*nt. You might think that 3-stars means a place is average, and 4 stars is a good rating. 5-star reviews are reserved only for the most luxurious, above-and-beyond experiences. Unfortunately, this couldn't be further from the truth. Airbnb holds hosts to a strict 5-star-or-bust expectation.
To be a Superhost you need to achieve a rating of over 4.8 stars, and the average Airbnb rating is 4.7.
If your listing drops below a 4.3 you are subject to suspension from Airbnb.

Is 4 star a good review?
